She purchased her bed mattress with her summer job earnings a year ago from the local "Sleepy's" retailer. Her choice was a Serta Twin mattress because the nice salesman said they were the best mattress at a fair price. At first, the product performed as expected, slept comfortable, sturdy to sit on. No Complaints. About 6 months in use my daughter started to notice rust colored stains coming through the material and a general breakdown in sleep support. she used a mattress cover and pad to sleep on. When contacting the local retailer she was told to contact Sleepy's warranty service department. Upon contact a representative visited our home and inspected the mattress. Taking note of the general "sag-in-the-middle" of the mattress, he also noted the rust colored stains coming through the mattress, and also noticing a small red paint mark on the mattress. Three weeks elapsed and we are now told the these "unknown" stains void the Serta Warranty. Yes, I looked up the Serta Warranty online and received an education. Upon review of Important Information the consumer might as well be told, upon sale...you own it. No refunds, no exchanges. Leave the showroom floor and you are STUCK! OK, I get it....."Serta-We Make The World's Best Mattress"; you sold her a lemon, a piece of Junk for $400 and now we are stuck with it. I can understand the small paint stain voiding the warranty; yes, it measures about a dime size where she painted her room. But rust colored coil stains from beneath the mattress cover and the general breakdown of the product in a short time? I have mattresses that we use for years and still have no problems. Well, you have taught a high school student a valuable lesson about American marketing, consumer choice and warranty service...you get what you pay for. BUYER BEWARE.... AND WE WILL NOT BE BUYING FROM YOU AGAIN!   Please Sleepy's, stop selling inferior products at prime prices....and, Oh.....Enjoy you showroom solitude!
