SLEEPYS 800-MATTRESS .When shopping a mattress, the 1st 2 stores that come to mind are Sleepy's and 800mattress. Not until till you have bargained your heart out after 3 days of calls and show rooms, you find out you are being solicited by the same company. Anyway, I purchased 3 mattresses from Sleepy's. The floor sticker price on my King mattress Serta Anot Plush set is $2,199. They gave it to me for less than that, which was very nice of them. I inquired about their comfort exchange. They told me it will be $399 for the comfort exchange and $89 for a delivery. (Doesn't a comfort exchange mean that they will have to make a delivery anyway, so why deceive the consumers and have two separate fees . I believe that to be redundant. They must think we are fools. They act like used car salesmen. They will say do almost anything to make a sale.
Well, I called customer service to make a comfort exchange, because I wake up with my feet higher than my head and gets me nauseous and they said OK go to the showroom. I went to the showroom and found the mattress I liked better. A Sterns and Foster. The sticker price was lower that the one I had purchased. They are supposed to exchange for equal value or I pay the difference. Their Guarantee and comfort exchange is a big lie. They want to charge me another $1,700 plus the comfort exchange fees 399 and oh yea, "a delivery charge" $89. They are totally dishonest about what they preach. You would not find this out unless you wanted to exchange you mattress. What a bunch of CON Artists. Everyone know you cant lie on a mattress for 15 minutes and say this is the mattress I want for the next 10 years. They ONLY way is to actually sleep on it.
So at the end of the day they are refusing to honor their comfort guarantee

Something is missing

There are a few details missing in your report.
so why deceive the consumers and have two separate fees
- Sounds like it is the opposite. They are giving you the detail on exactly what you are paying for. If they wanted to "deceive" you they could just lump it all into one. Most companies contract out their deliveries, and that is what they are charged by that company. Also depending on your state Delivery may or may not be taxable. So in separating it out it makes it clearer as to what may need to be taxed. If you want to talk about deception, delivery is never "free". So any company that advertises "free" delivery has to make up for that cost somewhere, and usually that means increasing the actual price.
The floor sticker price on my King mattress Serta Anot Plush set is $2,199. They gave it to me for less than that, which was very nice of them.
- Okay what was the exact price of the mattress. Now, this is not including the box spring, frame, or any extra items you also got.
Their Guarantee and comfort exchange is a big lie. They want to charge me another $1,700 plus the comfort exchange fees 399 and oh yea, "a delivery charge" $89.
- What was the actual price of the one you wanted(again the mattress only)? What was the reason they are telling you this one is another $1,700?
The other thing you didn't mention is how muc time elapased? I don't know specifically about this warranty, but other similar ones tend to last only 30-90 days. How long was it between the time you purchased it and the time you wanted to exchange it?
