I purchased a 5 year , 100.000 miles warranty from Carchex . When the documentation and the contract came in the mail , I realize that the warranty company was SmartAutowarranty and not Carchex . Plus , on some of the contract pages was mentioned another name : Warranty America LLC . And when the first bill came , guess what ... a forth company was billing me : Mepco from IL .

I had an engine malfunction and I took the car to a local Lincoln Dealership , and I've been told that the repair ( new engine ) is going to cost me 6500 $ . When I called the warranty company , they decided in 5 minutes , without sending an inspector , without talking to me or to the mechanic that they are gonna deny my claim , using as an excuse one of the efects of the engine malfunction ( broken valve cover and the loss of oil ) wich they said it was the cause and not the efect .

I have spent 5-6 hours trying to explain them the real cause of the engine malfunction ( camshaft ) but they told me that I don't know anything about mechanicas . I called the Smartautowarranty and I asked for a cancellation of the warranty policy and a full refund of the 2 payments in total amount of 175 $ , but they declined that also .

I was also told that I signed a contract ad if I decide not to pay the warranty contract in full (1000$) they will "fix" my credit . I have filled complaints so far to the FTC , State Atourney for all 4 companies , unfortunatelly I can not afford a lawyer to sue them . Maybe someone can help me with ideeas on how to break down these scam artists . Thank you

National Auto Inspections, LLC.

AUTHOR: vadsky - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 01, 2010
Carchex is actually called National Auto Inspections, LLC. They sued AA Auto and won. There is also an open case currently. Details could be found at Maryland Judiciary Case Search Case number 24c08006423 and 24c09006766.

National Auto Inspections, LLC started as a used car inspection company and gradually got in to selling service contracts.

Your first tip-off should have been Mr. Tarantino's grammar and punctuation!

AUTHOR: Fuming - (U.S.A.)

Dear Consumer,
Maybe your first clue regarding the intellect of employees at Royal Administration should have been Mr. Tarantino's paragraph-long, nonsensical, and punctuation-challenged rambling. Everybody DO YOU HOMEWORK when dealing with after-market auto warranties! Once they have your money, that's it.

Sir try filing at small claims court and you can represent yourself.
Sometimes is better than having an attorney. just be propaired with all documents.
if you lose your case you can file an apeal.
The company might pay to avoid costly Attorney fees.you will have to file under that corparations by named registered agent.
google corp. lookup and state for info.
hope this is helpful.

Response to Ciprian's Post

AUTHOR: Ben - (U.S.A.)

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. It's important for consumers to understand the nature of vehicle service contract (extended warranties) business. In most cases, consumers work with a broker (or sales entity) to purchase a vehicle service contract.

The role of the broker is to help the consumer choose the correct coverage and terms for their vehicle and when requested, help them establish 3rd Party financing for the transaction. The service contract itself is an agreement between the Administrator (or Obligor) of the program and the consumer.

Each Administrator's contract contains specific Terms and Conditions which outline exactly what is covered by the contract as well as other important items such as procedures for cancellation and transfers. At the point of a mechanical failure, consumers contact the Administrator directly to process claims.

In this case, SmartAutoWarranty.com served as the broker in the transaction. Unfortunately, as the broker, SmartAutoWarranty.com maintains no authority or discretion in the adjudication of claims. That responsibility rests solely with the Administrator of the contract.

As it turns out, fortunately for Mr. Ciprian, his claim was reviewed and many repairs were approved and authorized on his vehicle. We recommend to all consumers that prior to any purchase they request and review the service contract information thoroughly.

Most importantly, make sure the coverage you are purchasing is right for your and is backed by a reputable Administrator and/or Insurer. At SmartAutoWarranty.com, we look forward to the opportunity to serve future consumers thru our consultative sales process.

Justin Tarantino is a LIAR !!!

AUTHOR: C.m. - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, January 11, 2008

Hi E.F. . I am so mad about the lies that that guy told you . And he is not only a liar but very stupid also . I paid 99 $ as a down payment when the Carchex guy sold me the policy ( his name is Steve Nehus , an awesome guy , he helped me a lot, call him not that tarantino a*hole ), and then 74.68 $ the first payment . How much is 99 + 75 , Mr Tarantino , isn't around 175 $ ? And I have the copies of the checks to proove it . I DID NOT WAIT 3 WEEKS FOR NOTHING , it was 45 days , and it wasn't waiting , it just happened after 45 days or so . 45 days and 1500 miles . AND IS MY RIGHT TO ASK THE WARRANTY COMPANY TO FIX MY CAR , Mr TARANTINO !!!

You people don't understand , do you ? WE THE CUSTOMERS PAY FOR YOUR PAYCHECKS AND YOU SHOULD TREAT US ALL THE TIME AS NICE AS YOU ARE TREATING US WHEN YOU TRY TO SELL US THE POLICIES . I can prove to anybody , with documents that EVERYTHING what Mr. Tarantino is a big fat LIE .

And gues what , if all he said was true , why I received a call from the CEO of the company , Mr. Paul Stratch telling me that they eventualy are gonna fix my car ( after filling complaints with the FTC , Better Bussiness Bureau , State Attorney , Chamber Of Commerce ) .If anyone is interested I can send copies to prove that everything I said here was true . Mr Tarantino , if you are trying to lie , at least try a bit harder .

Hello,

I am in the market for auto warranties for my vehicle. I received quotes from 3 different companies including Carchex. After reviewing the different plans, I decided to eliminate Carchex due to finding a cheaper plans with AAA Warranty. The Carchex representative, Justin Tarantino, provided consumer complaints regarding this company to inform me that I may have purchased a not so reputable warranty. In response, I use your report and another one reported on www.ripoffreport.com to show him that complaints has been made about Carchex as well.

Surprisingly, this is his response about your report labelled 'first one':

That's funny the first one the guy never even paid the first months payment and his payment was $75 not $175 and he was refunded but he wanted it in 24 hours not sent in the mail but he bought the policy and was in the shop with a blown engine within 3 weeks and you have to wait 30 days anyway so who was fraudulent him for trying to get a warranty on a car that already had a blown engine or us for finding out and not paying just so you know warranty America is the same plan you got from AA most likely, the second one the contract they sign states they only inspect engine and that is a separate division from the warranty company. Either way I can assure you, you haven't got the lesser BUT ITS NOT MY CAR NOR MY PROBLEM ANYMORE. GOOD LUCK.
