They company would not refund for a canceled policy that was never used. I never reached Mileage or 30 days. I made a deposit for this policy on 10/18/2007 and is now 12/17/2007. I cancelled on 11/16/2007.

My first policy was canceled by them and they did n't let me know. I had to find out on my own . I should have just left it canceled. But i really wanted a warranty for my 2000 Mits Galant.

They blamed their lack of comunication on me. I was told that one amount was going to come out of my account when more than triple that amount came out.

I was sitting and thinking i really dont want to work with this company because i don't trust them and now that refunded me a partial deposit.

Please Beware.

This Company can't calculate

AUTHOR: Tiffany - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, March 03, 2008

This Company can't calculate my second start date was 10/18/2007 the first one was 09/07/2007 but they cancelled me and didn't let me know. They told me one thing and did another thing. I got fed up the second time and cancelled on 11/16/2007. So Where do they get 70 days from 10/18/2007 to 11/16/2007.

I did a chargeback through my bank the first time (09/07/2007 start date) because they were suppose to only take $33.60 from my account and took $199.90. Maid bounce my account. Then they cancelled me.

I called back because I found out when I contacted my warranty policy holder that didn't have policy. I called them back and they reinstated my and because in the mean time the refunded me 199.90 inaddition to the amount my bank refunded. I then got confirmation of a new contract number and start date of 10/18/2007. I thought that was unfair and ask to start from my original date of 09/07/2007 because I passed my waiting period. they said they would have to get approval. In the meantime I decided to cancel because I no longer felt comfortable with this company and I didn't want to get ripped off.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. It's important for consumers to understand the nature of vehicle service contract (extended warranties) business. In most cases, consumers work with a broker to purchase a vehicle service contract. The role of the broker is to help the consumer choose the correct coverage and terms for their vehicle and when requested, help them establish financing for the transaction.

The service contract itself is an agreement between the Administrator (or Obligor) of the program and the consumer. Each Administrator's contract contains specific Terms and Conditions which outline exactly what is covered by the contract as well as other important items such as procedures for cancellation and transfers.

In this case, SmartAutoWarranty.com served as the broker and the Terms of the Administrator's contract are written such that the customer is able to receive a full refund should the customer complete the cancellation process within 30 days of purchase. This customer submitted the cancellation form 70 days after purchase.

Unfortunately, as the broker in the transaction, we were bound by the Terms of the contract and thus processed a partial refund. It should be noted that the customer did receive the majority of her funds in the form of a refund, just not the amount due for the time the contract was active. Prior to any purchase, consumers should request and review the service contract information thoroughly.

At SmartAutoWarranty.com, representatives are trained to make sure consumers are well informed prior to any purchase and contracts are delivered both prior to and after purchase. We look forward to the opportunity to serve future consumers thru our consultative sales process.
