I went and got a title loan from Smart Choice in Easley. They told me they expected 10% back on payments so I got a $1200 loan.....they didn't tell me it was really 356% back and that I would owe them $12000 back on a vehicle I didn't even paid $2000 for. They took my vehicle not even hours after saying they wold give me until the next day to make a payment. Then a week later the tow company calls me to inform me the title loan company had someone come pick up my vehicle with all my belongings in it and tag still on and tried to illegally auction it off. They placed my wallet in the back of another person's vehicle at the tow lot with jewelry also missing out of the vehicle . Now they expect me to pay almost $20000 to get my $1990 vehicle back.

Without regard to how much the interest rate was, that is what you agreed to! You signed a contract which contained the terms of the loan. If you didn't like those terms, simple matter...you don't agree to them. Let me guess, you didn't even bother to read the contract, did you? Secondly, it was YOU who failed to make payments and as such, YOU turned on the collections machine up to and including a repo. The car is then sold at auction to try and recoup what YOU failed to repay. Again, another simple remedy...you make your payments on time and this never happens. Oh yes...its all their fault!
