Prior to utilizing SMART CROWDFUNDING, I read a complaint on here and several other "scam" sites about the service.  SMART CROWDFUNDING bashed the guy who complained saying his campaign was to blame, not SMART CROWDFUNDING.  So I gave them the benefit of the doubt.  Wish I hadn't. 

Once I paid, they did provide a press release and it was good.  But that was the extent of what they did and what purpose did it serve since nothing happened after that.  Literally, NOTHING.  They did not contact me after that. 

There are Indiegogo analytics that show the number of people each source refers to your campaign broken down.  In the month we have campaigned, the referrals from SMART CROWDFUNDING were 31.  I have the screenshot to prove this. For all their claims and the $100 I paid, 31 referrals is a sad total.

No doubt they will bash me too for complaining and it appears that they have a well thought out plan for not refunding your money.  However, take heed.  DON'T SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY.  They are not customer oriented, they are money oriented.  They do not provide a service that makes any difference to your campaign (regardless to their assertion that "complainers campaigns were no good from the start").  The question that begs to be answered by SMART CROWDFUNDING is, if a campaign is no good, why contact the campaign, advertise that you can help, and then disappear? I would be satisfied with the lack of results if there had been any evidence of effort to assist on their part.  Their business practice appears to be contact crowd funders, get their money, and then spend the rest of the time fighting refunds and responding to complaints from them.  No time directed toward customer service or the actual campaign. 

Our campaign has generated a buzz, but not like we wanted.  But a company that did make a huge difference in a DAY was Green Inbox who were supportive, engaged and did what they advertised and then some.  Now.  Watch SMART CROWDFUNDERS response to this complaint.  They will assert that I am lying and blame our campaign for not being good enough.  Classic.

This issue has been resolved amiably

Mr. Slidell and I, through a series of emails, have resolved this issue.  I trust that my experience will not sway future consumers since this was MY experience solely.  I do not wish to have a war with anyone, so I also trust this will be the end of this situation and issue.

ATTACK!!!! Just as I said.

I don't want to fight this man or his attacks.  I was not pleased with the level of service.  I was honest about that.  I paid him.  I was honest about that.  Not everyone is going to like or think your service is great especially when you don't try to make things better. Attacking your customers if they complain should not be a best practice for a business.  Look at the other complaint and see how mercilessly the other person who filed a complaint was attacked.

I fail to see how my displeasure adds up to dishonesty and unethical behavior, however, I predicted an attack and an attack I received.  I was threatened, my Facebook page was attacked and all this because I was not satisfied.  Consumers should make their own decisions where this is concerned.  As I told Mr. Slidell, I wish him and his business nothing but success.  However as an adult consumer, I have the right to voice my opinion about the level of service received or not received and should be able to do so without being viciously and personally attacked.

Energy would be better spent trying to resolve the problems and shortfalls in service, than attacking customers.  Mr. Slidell has been paid.  God bless and please, no further attacks.  Thanks.

This customer signed up for our $99 Pro Plan Package.

As stated by Dena Rivera in her complaint and in her own words:

"Once I paid, they did provide a press release and it was good."

This press release was witten by an external writter at a cost to our business. It was also distributed at a cost too. The fact that she attempted to get a full refund from Paypal. It is clear to see that she DID receive services which were "good"and then did not want to pay for them.

  • 5/22/2014 19:51 PDT - Buyer: They advertised that their service would increase the amount of traffic and donations to our Indiegogo campaign. So far there have been no traffic or donations as a result. There are analytic numbers that are shown on the site and only 9 people have come to the campaign as a result of their service. They contacted me the first week and that is it. Nothing since. Please refund my money because the service did nothing.

We do not advertise that we will "increase donations" as for obvious reasons, we have no control over whether people contribute to a campaign or not.

I will leave it at that and let others judge her true character, including her lack of ethics and principles!
