During a very hot sunny day in Playa Del Carmen when we should have been lounging palmtree poolside with the kids at our all inclusive resort, we decided to attend a silly presentation to get 4 free tickets to Xoximilco. After 5 and one half hours of saying No, Gracias where I was close to tears and my boyfriend was ready to punch someone as a result of their relentless badgering, Smart Web Vacations (Brent and Helena were the sales people) offered us a deal we just could not refuse. So in addition to the package we purchased, they offered us two weeks vacation free in 2018 and to evidence this they gave us two gift certificates for airfare for 1500 US dollars each and two gift certificates for the use for one week of a two bedroom unit at any of their premier resorts in Mexico. All the gift certificates state Must be used within the 2018 calendar year. This is fantastic! Right? Well we contacted the Smart Web Vacation Sales Centre to redeem our Gift Certificates for our 2 week dream vacation and we were told that we could only use one of the four certificates per year. Wait, am I dumb? The certificates say they all have to be used in 2018. And No where on the certificates does it say "only one to be used per year." So I didn't get 2 weeks vacation for free then? So I am not getting what I was promised by signing my membership agreement? Doesn't that constitute misrepresentation, thereby making our contract null and void and we should get our money back? I just want what I was promised. We have gift certificates to be used in 2018 for goodness sake! The Smart Web sales people will offer you all sorts of stuff to get you to sign on the dotted line yet they will not deliver and the worst part is that the sales people know that they have suckered you. Someone please help.
