The company telephoned my work and stated the where with the Felony and Fraud Department and they were hired to collect a debt. They stated I had to pay it right now or they were going to send the police to my office. I attempted to explain that I was not the one they needed to contact and they would listen. They told me I was stealing and they were going to prosectute to the fullest of the law. I told them to go ahead and at least I would have my day in court and I hung up. They promptly called my cell and home leaving threatening calls. When I did not respond, they began to randomly call my office and speaking to anyone who answered the phone telling them first how they were and that they needed to contact me. They were trying to embarrase me at work. My HR director finally told me what they were doing and that they were not going to take the calls. They have called family members and leaving threatening messages for me. I can't believe they are aloud to do this. They are horribly rude and belligerent.

HOW IN THE WORLD DID THESE PEOPLE GET YOUR NAME?
THIS IS FAKE.
THESE GUYS SOUND LIKE THE BOTTOM FEEDERS WHO TRY TO COLLECT DEBTS THAT ARE PAST TWO YEARS--THE LEGAL STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS.
OR THEY JUST MAKE UP A DEBT THAT YOU HAVE NEVER HAD, NEVER WILL HAVE AND DO NOT HAVE AND THEY FIGURE THAT IF THEY KEEP HARRASSING YOU, YOU WILL PAY THEM TO STOP. THIS IS EXTORTION AND IT IS ALSO ILLEGAL.
DO NOT PAY THEM A DIME.
DO NOT ADMIT YOU OWE THE DEBT.
YOU CALL THE CONSUMER FRAUD DIVISION OF YOUR STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE AND TELL THEM WHAT THESE PEOPLE ARE DOING.
IT SOUNDS TO ME LIKE YOU HAVE NO DEBT AND THEY ARE TRYING TO EXTORT YOU BUT WHERE IN THE WORLD THEY GOT YOUR NAME,ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBERS IS A MYSTERY TO ME!

SCAM

You cannot be arrested for a debt unless you wrote a bad check and there are statutes of limitations on those as well depending on the State
I had a debt collector try this on me - sued em in court and won
If they call again let them know you know that this is a scam - I have never heard of this so called "debt collector"
Sounds like another one of those idiots that ABC news did a report on - these individuals hacked into payday loan sites and stole information
If not, could be a skip tracer trying to find an individual who has a name similar to yours - happened to my Grandmother -
Skip tracer called my home looking for a person with same last name but first name was very different
Hang in there -
