I purchased a leather recliner, couch, loveseat and chair from Sofa Mart in 2013. I found rips on two seams of the couch, a tear on a corner of the recliner and one of the recliner mechanisms on the loveseat does not hold.

I submitted a claim to the warranty company, I purchased the warranty when I bought the furniture. They said it was not accidental damage and they could not warranty it. I would have to talk with the store.

I contacted the store and they would not let me speak with a manager. I was told that I would need to submit my information to them. I asked for them to send me an e-mail address to send my information to. Initially the woman on the phone told me they did not have that capability. I continued to ask very direct questions, until she finally agreed to send to my e-mail contact so I could send in my warranty and information on the furniture. There is no contact information on their website.

I waited 3 weeks and never received contact information. I called again, someone named Betsy Johnson answered the phone. I again asked to speak with a manager, she said none were available. I had to explain the entire thing to her. Initially she said there was nothing they could do. I expressed my frustration and how I felt what they were tellilng me was that I had purchased junk and it was my problem.

She said that is not what I am saying. I asked what she was meaning and then she told me she would send me contact information to my e-mail address. She sent me a phone number and said to send the photos and warranty information to it. I responded that in a text on a phone it is going to be bad resolution and that I wanted to send the photos via e-mail.

I then responded to the e-mail address that she had sent me the phone number on, with the pictures and warranty info. The photos were blocked. I tried 4 times and ended up having to send the photos to an applie iphone and forwarding them to the phone number that Betsy Johnson had sent. That was over a week ago. I sent an e-mail confirmation request, asking if she had received them. No response.

I would like to have furniture that has not even hit two two year mark yet, fixed or replaced at no cost to me.  I would like someone in authority at Sofa Mart to contact me and deal with this in a professional, respectful, logical manner.

Betsy.johnson@sofamart.com is the e-mail she sent me. I have a phone number that was given to me to send the text to, should it be needed. I cannot get to that page without losing this page.
