I called Sony, to get a service representative. They gave me Video Tech, Balto,MD.. The rep came to remove the Optical Block, and told me the problem, was not the recall problem I had with my Sony KDF-42WEE655. I was told by Video tech rep. that he could repair the optical block unit, for $300.00 to $400.00. $700.00 for a new unit. I paid Video tech $85.00 service charge.
A week later, the Video rep returns the unit, installs it and no change problem with too much blue in picture. Video tech's rep then says, usually when we clean to optical block, that fixes the color problem. Notice he uses two differnt disciptions repair and clean. Video tech has not called me back about fixing my tv.
I called Sony today and was told that my problem was not covered on their Optival Block Rebate Program. My event # E31647658. I and thousands of others with the same problem. I in my life time have owned four Sony tvs, and never had a problem with any of them. I am very upset, having this $2400.00 crappy tv with too much blue.

#1 Consumer Suggestion
use the picture settings

When you have a problem with the "coolness", blue, or "warmness", red, you need to play with the picture quality setting on the TV. Change the coolness on the picture quality to how you like, normal, cool, warm.
My advice would be to take the shop who "Fixed" or "cleaned" the lamp to small claims.
They are obviously the reason you pic is crappy. Besides Sony DOES NOT clean broken lamps they say replace them with NEW!
