This is a terrible program. The food is terrible. It is expensive. Customer service is terrible. They charge $99 to cancel the membership and never ever tell you about this during the joining process. The information sent contradicts information in their books. Terrible terrible company to work with I lost over 160 pounds on Medifast in the past and know how to work a good program. Southbeach diet is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Anyone would be foolish to get involved with them

In Response to Comment #1 and Elaboration

The $99 the OP is talking about is a hidden fee that no one tells you about when you sign up. It's buried somewhere in all the text they bombard you with when you initially want to try the diet. For me they want $125 (see my post against this horrible company). No way are they going to get it. I will contest it with my credit card -- Discover card is always excellent about helping you to dispute such ripoffs. Southbeach diet has disgusting, flavorless food with low-quality meats that have a lot of gristle and unchewable parts. Worse, they didn't send the foods I requested. You lose weight because you don't eat the food, LOL.

Comment on quitting charges

I hope I'm working with enough information here.   So $99 for quitting huh?  Did you agree to pay to quit when you signed up?  I bet not and it sounds like you didn't make such an agreement.

If they demand $99 and it isn't part of any contract you can just laugh at them.  If they have your credit card number and charged you, you can call your issuer and open a dispute to the charges and that should take care of it.

So is bad food part of the business plan?  You lose weight because you can't eat the so-called food?  How much pain is a poor dieting human supposed to take? Good grief.
