Spectrum Home Furnishings Major ripoff by internet lighting furniture company Farmington New Jersey

Having read similar complaints to mine about this company, I wanted to share my nightmare. I spent almost $3,000.00 for one large chandelier and 3 wall sconces. My credit card was debited and several boxes arrived. When I opened the boxes with my electrician, we discovered that the 3 wall sconces were missing. After about a dozen calls to the "customer service" dept. and as many promises by them to ship me the sconces, I finally filed a complaint with the credit card company. The sconces never came.

To add to this problem, when the large chandelier (price- $2,500.00) was installed by the licensed electrician, it did not work at all. I called the company and the owner (or manager) advised that he would "allow" me a credit of two hours of my electrician's time to fix this chandelier. The high cost of the product and the fact that it was brand new was unimportant to him. He decided, without ever looking at the light, that it should only take 2 hours to fix. The chandelier is a multi-spoked very large fixture and after many hours of trying to find the problem, the electrician found the short in one of the wires and repaired it. His bill was $400.00 to correct the problem. Of course, I have not seen any money from them. I am trying to get a refund through my credit card company.

What amazes me the most however, is that they know I am an attorney in the State that they are located in. If the credit card company cannot resolve the problem by crediting my account, I will enjoy filing suit against them for damages and consumer fraud.
