This dealer is extremely unethical and I did not expect I would have these ridiculous issues with when purchasing a new car.  It's unfortunate that Toyota and Honda dealers have such higher standards.

I stopped in one evening and liked a vehicle.  I received a written quote with management authorization/signature from the dealer stating the price, rebates and the trade-in value.  I agreed to the purchase and made a small down payment.

When I came back to complete the purchase 2 days later, I didn't expect or realize they hid a $500 increase in the truck price within the final paperwork to cancel out one of my discounts I qualified for.  I caught the mistake a few days later, and informed the dealer thinking it may have been an honest mistake they would be willing to remedy.

At first they told me I was wrong, I received all my rebates, and they would not address the price increase question.  Then, when I spoke with the sales manager, he actually justified why he did it saying I received more for the trade-in than they wanted to offer (this was still $500-800 below NADA, ClearBook, and Blackbook and $1k below KBB).  Then, they actually laughed when I said I was going to contact their corporate office.  It wasn't until I sent them a copy of the written quote I had a deposit on that they said the owner would call me after the weekend on Monday.

I never received a call from the owner that day and then after an email and 2 phone calls, I was told they "forgot" and would get back to me.  I never heard from the owner, but the sales associate told me they weren't going to honor the offer I put the deposit on.

It's unfortunately because I now need to pursue other avenues.  It's such a waste of time because of their unethical and illegal changes and they would have made more servicing the vehicle if they said it was a mistake.

If you are considering purchasing a vehicle, go elsewhere- it's not worth dealing with them and their ridiculous tactics and schemes.

I Wouldn't Go To Them Either!

AUTHOR: Jim - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, October 09, 2013

As per your complaint, NOBODY should go to them!  They are the typical example of the Sleazy American Car Business and you and I have absolutely ZERO difference in that.  NO merchant should be doing this crap!  But the car business is what it is.  Everyone of us needs to be a SMART CONSUMER in our transactions with any kind of merchant.  The key to that is to READ whatever papers or contracts are presented to us BEFORE we sign it!  If you would have done this, we wouldn't be here now, would we?  What they have done is a "given" yet you are STILL in denial that you had anything to do with this.  There's no other way to explain this.  You were presented with a contract which YOU didn't read BEFORE you signed it!  Yes I get angry.  I have zero patience for people who act like stupid consumers and when something goes wrong, they blame everybody but themselves.  This is not some obscure legal point which requires a team of lawyers to figure out!  You were presented with a contract which you did not read.  Unless you are totally out of it mentally, I'll bet you'll never do that again, will you?  Of course you can again write back and tell us how much denial you're in and contend that somehow, someway I'm connected to these slimeballs, which I am not.  You just don't like the fact somebody took you to task and told it like it is!  The equivalent of this is for you to wear a blindfold and walk out into the busiest street in your town.  When the car hits you, blame the car.

I rest my case.

Will not use this dealer

I have seen the initial complaint and Jim's response.  Jim, you are one angry person who I imagine must have a tie to the dealership or you would not seem so passionate about your responses.

That being said I am in the market for a new Dodge Ram within the next month and live close to this dealership.  I came across this review while googling the dealership.  It seems to me that the dealership did some very unethical things here and I would imagine illegal as well.  There is a thing called UNFAIR TRADE PRACTICES AND CONSUMER PROTECTION LAW.  I imagine this matter would fall under that law.

Dealers intentionally make these contracts and numbers on them as complicated as possible... but that does not give them the right to add money to the deal for their profit.

I think I will be heading in the other direction to Bergey's in Souderton.

Still unethical...

You seem curiously incensed by and emotionally invested in this problem for someone just browsing this site. You also responded to my complaint almost immediately. I'll let others be the judge of who you work for. In the meantime, my point still stands:

This dealer broke the law and is unethical, subversive, and should be avoided at all costs.

Total Denial!

Interesting but very common, immature response!  No Einstein, I don't work for them!  You just don't have an intelligent rebuttal, do you?  The point was made and the nail hit perfectly on the head!  All you can say is to elude to the old "you must work for them BS!"  First off Einstein, you're absolutely right!  They SHOULD NOT have changed the paperwork!  That's a given!  However, YOU, the consumer, are the FINAL gate keeper to avoid being defrauded.  They can change anything they want but a SMART CONSUMER would take the time to read what the hell they are signing BEFORE they sign it.  Car dealers do this kind of crap regularly because they know many of the people who come through their doors will do EXACTLY what you did...OBLIGATE THEMSELVES TO TERMS THEY NEVER READ!  Your complaint is nothing more than a lame excuse.  They tried to defraud you and you went along with it by not reading what you were signing!  Incredible!

Point Proven

AUTHOR: DanD - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, October 09, 2013

As you can see from the response, they don't deny changing the initial management signed agreement which met all terms of a contract (offer, consideration, and acceptance).  In this process they violated 3 sections of the PA consumer protection law.

The worst part is that the management hid behind a young salesman to facilitate the calls and justify their actions.I am interested to see how Chrysler views their actions.

If you are interested in a save your time and go elsewhere, it's not worth dealing with their childish antics.

You SHAFTED Yourself!

AUTHOR: Jim - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, October 09, 2013

As YOU stated...you caught the "mistake" "A FEW DAYS LATER"!  Did you even for one second think you should have read the contract BEFORE signing it???  I mean, how elementary is that?  They have a SIGNED CONTRACT which says YOU AGREED to the terms and conditions listed therein...terms and conditions which you didn't even read!
