Spotlite Radio is A Rip Off!

After getting a few telemarketing calls about being picked to be interviewed on what they called “the largest internet radio talk show in the world” with over 17million listeners in the US and another 5 million around the world, they claimed they had 22million listeners.

The promoted a Free 8 minute interview. I figured there was going to be some sort of catch, but figured, what the heck let’s see if I can get a little business and exposure.

Sure enough, within 5 minutes of the FREE interview, I get a call from a guy who claims to be the owner.

Anyway, he opens with the question “Did you ever do Radio? Because you really captured the listener’s interest!”

And the pitch went on from there – he supposedly had calls and emails coming in from listeners and wanted to get them to me, I supposedly held the audience’s attention at 75 or 76%, while the average was something like 19%, etc.

Good pitch – all BS. Just to get me into signing up for 3 half hour interviews at $500 each.
He was very convincing, and when I said I needed to do a little research on them, he shot back with “Well Paul, I tell you what – you were SO GOOD on the radio and the people loved you SO MUCH, I’m going to offer you this only one time and you need to take advantage of this NOW – for One Time and One Time only, I’ll let you do a single show at $500. You’ll get so much business out of it, I’m sure you will sign up for a regular show for the future – but you need to take advantage and pay the $500 now.

Then he went into he will place in on YouTube, they will send out Press Releases a day ahead of time, which I will have to approve and review BEFORE the show, and he claimed he would personally write the program.

Well, NONE of it came to fruition. LUCKILY, I have previous experience and had put together talking points and gave the interviewer the questions to ask.

Long story short, NONE of what they promised to do got done.

They took my money, put some poor person on the telephone with me to do the interview and that was it.

NO press release, NO picture posted, NO YouTube, NO Program, NOTHING.

They never even sent me the link to the show – I had to go look for it myself – and eventually found it buried in the archives with ZERO listeners.

Too bad, because if they did the right thing, they wouldn’t need to hire telemarketers and give out 8 minute interviews to lead into the Scam.

All they need to do is deliver on their promises and they would have plenty of repeat customers.
