Stainsafe in Palm Beach Rip Off! Refuses To Honor Warranty. Palm Beach Gardens Florida

This may seem lengthy but please read all of it as it contains some vital information at the bottom (Stainsafe's license was revoked as of 9/26/2008).

We purchased a leather sofa 2 years ago and called to report some light colored spots that were stains. Stainsafe refused to honor the policy that we paid for by telling us that it was not reported within 5 days after the staining incident occurred. After a 30 minute discussion with the Stainsafe "supervisor", the answer was still the same - claim refused. No exceptions. During this discussion (and being online at the time) I discovered that their web site address which was printed on the warranty policy (www.Stainsafe.com) does not exist. I Googled them and found them at www.Stain-safe.org (which contains no mailing address by the way) and the supervisor refused to tell me what their new web site address was. She claimed that, "There must be a problem with our web site. I will contact our IT department."

The supervisor suggested that we (she & I) both Google for Stainsafe together (to find their web site) and when the listing for "RipOffReport" appeared and I mentioned it to her, she said that she could not Google anymore! When I confronted her with her sudden change in "Googleability", she said, "I am sorry but that (the RipOffReport) has nothing to do with the purpose of this call."

After this complaint is posted on RipOffReport, rest assured a letter will be written to the Florida Attorney General with copies (including RipOffReport listings) being sent to the BBB and all Palm Beach news media.

Important Note: Stainsafe is registered as an LLC (Limited Liability Company) by the Florida Division of Corporations and their status is "INACTIVE" because they did not file an annual report as of 9/26/2008! The URL to verify this is:

Notice there is NO Federal Employer ID number listed for Stainsafe either.
