When I went in Staples on 2/21/2011 I had to ask where the video software was and this young know-it-all kid came over and took me to the video software and picked up Adobe Premiere Elements 9.  Then he took it upon himself to pressure me into buying software he claims that would work on my system without even reading the system requirements and he refuse to let me read them.  So, I took the software home thinking that this ignorant staples clerk knew something and I cut the seals.  Than I thought that I had better read the system requirements and come to find out this software is not compatible with my system, though it can go on Vista if everything else was OK.  A few days later when I took the software back,  they refused to take it back and refund my money, though it was this little idiot's fault that this happened.  If he just showed me where the software was and let me look it over instead of  browbeating me into something where I was unable to read the system requirements until I got home, this wouldn't of happen.  Under the circumstance I want a refund.  It wasn't my fault that this young punk didn't know anything.  And there are too many of these people working at our Staples, because a friend of mine ignored my advance as to what kind of printer she should get and got this other one after she was pressured and she hates the thing.  These fools are more insterested in selling you something you don't want as if we are too dumb to make our own decisions. And I'm getting sick of it.

I agree in a sense

AUTHOR: Dlit4ul - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, June 03, 2011

I have to put an opinion or future forwarning out there. It is the customer purchasing the products fee will to ask if it is ok to return an opened product and their right to read or research if this product may be compatible. I find it hard to believe that from the moment you have possesion of this till you walk up to check out , they didnt allow the consumer to read it. If so , thay could be a problem. However, Sales services are there to merely help customers locate a product, maybe recommend a certain product, and answer any questions the customer may have about store policies. Some companies even have return policies on th back of the receipt . I enjoy most of the trips to my store . Granite there may be some issues with certain sales agents that might mot be helpful and others that have little knowledge or even attitudes. Those need to be addressed with their manager in order to give them proper training or re-evaluate taking action on some of these employees so that the company can hold a better reputation . In the long run , theres always a solution to satisfying the customer or exhausting all efforts before taking further action.

Don't work for staples

AUTHOR: Ramjet - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, March 06, 2011

No, I don't work for Staples and I doubt the other responders do either.  I just absolutely don't believe you could not read the System Requirements if you wanted to.

I doubt seriously if the kid  (I know there are some 'know it all's in those jobs) absolutely forbid you from looking at it all the way through the purchase process. I expect that at some point you decided to take his word for it and hoped it would work.

Don't blame him, just accept your responsibility and learn from it.  Don't let a snot nose kid in a store dominate you.  Apparently you ARE too dumb to make your own decisions.

Don't pick on me people

AUTHOR: Scumbaghater - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, March 06, 2011

There's a list of complaints as long as your arm on Staples.  And to answer your question, the software was taken to the counter for me.  Why didn't this idiot ask me about my system requirements?  He was too bent on getting his way acting like a snotface know-it-all.    Although this will work on Windows Vista which I have nothing else is compatible.  Thought I mentioned that in my complaint.  Do you  turkies work at Staples or have worked at Staples?

Not buying it...

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, March 06, 2011

Are you trying to claim that the employee not only kept you from looking at it before you bought it, but all the way up until the point when you were at home and opened it yourself?

Sorry not buying your story.  Perhaps you may want to come up with a more convincing one.  Because if this happened at all the only one at fault is you.

Who put the package on the cashier's counter? Did you have the opportunity to pick up the package and read it at that time?

What operating system do you have?
