Dear Timeshare Owners,
Please do not buy into this scam. I paid this company $300 to have them list my timeshare on their Web site, and this is the only thing that they do. They are supposed to hold events to help sell your timeshare, but every time I called and asked "where is an event?" Their customer service team would say, I don't know, let me call you back -- no call backs, ever!
I listed my timeshare with them for 2.5 years, and during this time I was also suppose to get offers made by customers who may wish to purchase my timeshare...guess what, I didn't receive any report from the company.
After a minimum of 100 calls and e-mails to the owner with no return calls, I listed my timeshare on e-bay, where it sold in less than 4 days! Now, according to StarResort's "WRITTEN" policy, I am supposed to receive a full refund if I sell the property on my own. I called, faxed in a notarized bill of sale, and I was told, there was a certified check being sent to me. I waited, I waited, I waited, and I called and I called, and NOTHING! I called again, and said I was going to file a claim in small claims court - granted it is only $300 dollars, but it is the principal! Companies who lie and do not stand by their written and verbal statements should not be in business. When I called them and told them I was filing, they told me to screw off and hung up on me. Great customer service!
If anyone is EVEN thinking about unloading their timeshare, don't pay this company to sell it. If a company is going to sell real estate, they should not need money up front! Think about it -- its like the e-mail 20mill dollar scams from Africa. Do yourself a favor and sell this on e-bay like I did.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to e-mail me.
Good luck and don't get ripped off like I did!

An e-mail from the owner Gina

The following is an e-mail that was sent to me regarding my refund. Now keep in mind that StarResort provides the customer with a "written" document stating that if you or another company sells the timeshare for the original asking amount, then they will "refund you 100%." I sent them everything they required (bill of sale, new title and deed documents from the law office that the seller used), and here is her response:

Subject: Re: refund and follow-up
Dear Jason:
After reviewing your supposed sale. I came to the conclusion that you never sold your timeshare, regardless I still think if you in fact sold it, was not sold at the original price.
Therefore no refund will be giving to you.
Sincerely,
Gina L. Fernandez
Marketing Director

An odd e-mail. Definitely not proper English grammar usage, but even more ironic, is the statement that "She" believes that I did not sell the property, but then says, if I had, I didn't sell it for the original price. Can we say "contradiction" here? Well Gina, being that you have such great experience and expertise with legal documents, please, provide the readers with your rationale as to why this timeshare was not sold. Oh, what a second, would you like the name and telephone numbers of the new owners who live in ANOTHER state? I provided that to you, did you bother calling, or is it that your business is too shady and does not uphold to its contracts?
