I responded to a advertising glossy in the mail in early February for Renewal by Anderson windows since my house is in need of new windows. A Statewide Remodeling salesman came to my house in February and gave a good presentation on Anderson Windows and said Anderson makes the best Vinyl windows on the market. I liked what I saw and, after getting 3 other bids for different windows manufacturers, decided Anderson would give me the best product for the money.

After signing the contract and paying $2,000 down payment I didn't hear from anyone. After calling my sales rep. he apologized for the long wait and said someone should be out to my house within the week to take exact measurements. Someone actually did show up and took measurements as promised so so far so good. About 2 weeks later someone from Statewide Remodeling called and said they couldn't make a couple of my windows in the Double-Hung arrangement because they were too narrow so they would have to make them in Picture-Frame only (windows that are not able to be opened).

I was OK with this since I never opened them anyway. I signed a Change-order with Statewide for this.
After waiting 2 more months and not hearing anything else from Statewide, I decided to call them to find out where my windows were: All I got was an answering machine where I left a message to call me.

A factory representative with Kensington windows (not even with Anderson, who I thought I was getting my windows from) called and said they were the ones to blame and had screwed up making my Palladium windows because of a mis-measurement and that it would be on the truck in a couple of days to be shipped from Pennsylvania down to Texas.

Here it is now May 16th and I have yet to hear anything else about my windows so I called this morning and they said the truck had just arrived this morning (wow, what a coincidence!!)and that MOST of my windows had PROBABLY arrived! Imagine that, he didn't even know 1) how many windows were supposed to be on the shipment and 2)didn't think my Palladium window had been shipped from the factory yet!!

Then he had the gall to tell me they would have to freight the Palladium windows down on some courier express sometime in the next week but that he was worried about doing that because he doesn't trust the courier to handle windows gently enough that he could guarantee that it wouldn't be damaged!!

So, here it is, 3 months after seeing the sales representative, with it getting hot here in Texas, and I still don't know where my windows are. I called them again this afternoon and , get this, the assistant said everyone was out to lunch at 2:52 in the afternoon!! Man, they must take their lunch more seriously than their business. I left my number with the assistant (I wonder what happened to their voicemail and auto-attendant they had the last time I called them. Probably can't afford to fix it right now!) and am still waiting for a call.

I just came across this again. this customer can't even remember the name of the company they did business with? First they couldn't remember the manufacture of the windows they bought. IT"S ON THE CONTRACT!! so is the name of the company. Give me a break Maybe that's why i called them a liar...they just can't remember anything. as to covering the wood around the windows of course there is going to be damage removing the old windows i guess these people think they will come out by themselves? This is also written in the contract they signed

I'm sorry this company has to resort to calling its customers liars. I would not have written the former complaint without reason, certainly not to undermine a company I had never done business with. The truth is that the service and communication of Texas Remodeling was very poor until the end. They did finally manage to get a technician out to site who cared about the work envolved and did a good job finishing the windows installation.

The truth is that 2 windows were the wrong color, one was the wrong size, and one was broken at the factory. I realize this is not all Texas Remodeling's fault, as I acknowledged in the first complaint; but the lack of communication with me, the customer, and unwillingness of Texas Remodeling take the blame or to change or repremand manufacturers due to bad quality control has destroyed my confidence in using Texas Remodeling again for any future repairs or upgrades.

By the way, the 'extra work' that was performed was only to cover up damaged wooden windows frames with aluminum siding that the workers themselves damaged in order to get the old windows out

I have personal experience with the coe job. This customer is a liar. Their windows have been installed. There was 1 window of the 14 taht came in from the manufacture the wrong color & had to be re-ordered twice. There was also another window of the 14 that came in the wrong size. In both cases my company stayed in contact with this customer, explained the situation & appoligized. We have even done extra work for no charge to make up for their inconvience. Just to confirm how misinformed this customer is anyone concerned can check the andersen web site. They do not even make a vinyl window!!! Thats why the factory rep called them from the Kennsington window factory. They don't even know what product they bought even though it is clearly written on the contract they signed? You guy's represent yourself as consumer advocates but you'll post anything anybody wants to write. Why don't you start a better consumers bureau where companies can post up consumers who lie & rip off business? I have installed over 16,000 jobs & you got 3 complaints? All three of these bozoes managed to find your obscure website but the couldn't go to my web site which is very easy to find & has my name clearly posted on it as a contact person in the event of a problem. Lets see if the rest of the story makes it to your rebutel page

Thanks Frank
