Steedshop & Sam Haymart The perfect SCAM!!!!!
Do not buy from this company!!
They have their business set up to scam you out of money.
Here is how it works.
You order items from their web site. Prepay for them and shipping too. Your card is charged at time of order. You then wait for delivery. Items don't arrive, you try calling on the phone but that's a waste, voice mail only and calls are NEVER returned. You then email and hope they respond. You will get all kinds of excuses, special order, out of stock, waiting for items from supplier, items on back order, all not their fault. You may or may not get some of what you ordered either way at some point Steedshop will stop responding to you. They will keep All your money and ignore you forever!! Now when you try to get your money back by filing a dispute with your credit card company, you will get an email from Sam Haymart (owner) advising that if you do not cancel your dispute you will be billed 15% of your purchase plus $20 charge back fee and failure to pay within 30 days will result in additional legal fees and will be sent to a collections agency. Yup it's right in their store policy!!!! That will be pointed out many times to you by Haymart!! Heymart says he can not do anything unless you cancel the dispute. He will be very persistent that you cancel your dispute or as he calls it "charge back" Now be aware if you do cancel the dispute it CAN NOT be reopened(check with your CC company Discover won't reopen theirs) so you have no way to get your money back except to deal with Haymart. DON'T DO IT!! I am sure Haymart knows this, you will again get ignored never get what you paid for and be out all your money!!!
Or as Heymart put it to me!!! "ALL HIS MONEY" YES HE DID!!!
I spent $245 bucks and got a $20 T-shirt 5 weeks later. I gave them 7 additional weeks to send the rest. Nothing, when I tried contacting Steedshop I received no answer phone or email. Not until I filed a credit card dispute did Haymart respond with his demands!! I responded asking for refund or delivery estimate and was ignored again. I refused to cancel my dispute!!! I advise Heymart I am making a complaint with the Arizona Attorney General. Now all of a sudden he hears me but he will only talk about a refund if I cancel the discover dispute. I know if I do he will keep all my money and I can't re-file the dispute. I refuse so just before my credit card company finishes the investigation Haymart authorized the debit back to my account a refund I call it. He does this to avoid the charge back fee he has to pay as well as save a black mark on his bank report. A few days later I get the bill for the 15% fee and the $20 buck charge back fee. Of coarse if not paid within 30 days collection and legal fees apply God only knows what that will be!!!
I am making a complaint with the Arizona Attorney Generals Office. I suggest all other victims of Steedshop and Sam Haymart do so too!!! There is a simple on-line form.
This scam needs to be stopped!!!

Well over a year later Mr. Haymart decides to respond this complaint. Thats about right because thats the kind of response time I was receiving from him during this whole ordeal. I would like to respond to this rebutal point by point. First of all I am not the only one to have fallen victim to this scam(www.revark.com search steedshop also). In fact I was referred to Rip off reports and other consumer complaint boards by others who had this same thing happen to them via Mr. Haymart and Steedshop. Mr. Haymart indicates that when there were issues "In most cases we worked with our customers to resolve disputes" I was in contact with several other consumers who indicated that there was no resolution other than to pay the fees in the policy or just wait for items that never get delivered. Mr. Haymart mentions special order items and back orders. The items I purchased were t-shirts and a hat all of which were listed as "IN STOCK" on the web site at the time I placed the order. (NOTE)These items were readily available on several other legitimate web sites. I was able to purchase and receive the same items without issue, and on time too.
Now I do mention Mr. Haymart in my complaint because when I filed my dispute with my credit card company (Discover) I began receiving emails directly from Mr. Haymart. The emails indicated that they were from "Sam Haymart Owner" and from a different email, not the admin email address which had responded previously. Now if Mr. Haymart claims that he did not have contact with customers or management within his company "in the last year or so" what kind of business owner is that? He is the "OWNER" one would think he would know what is going on in his company. I do not believe this for a second. I believe that I was receiving emails from Mr. Haymart himself. My question is why could you not speak with anyone over the phone? I made several attempts to contact via phone and ALL went unanswered! I do commend Mr. Haymart for taking responsibility for me being unhappy, however it's a little late for this!! I do call this a "SCAM" because I along with several other consumers felt that we were scammed out of our money! I am a retired Detective from a local police department and I believe in fairness. The policy written in the check out portion of the website is clearly there for a reason. When Mr. Haymarts company can not deliver the products offered for sale they rely on this policy to hold the customer hostage. The customer either waits endless amounts of time until they just give up and lose their money or if they file a dispute with the credit card they used, Mr. Haymart still is able to profit from this transaction by charging a 15% restock fee (funny that you get charged a restock fee for items they don't have stocked?) and a $20.00 charge back fee. If you do not pay this Mr. Haymart threatens to file a court action and have a judgement put on your credit report, plus add on legal fees and court costs. It should also be noted that www.steedshop.com has been closed for several months.
The web site is still active but says "Our online store is currently closed for maintenance. Please visit us again soon". I do not know why Mr. Haymart NOW chooses to respond to this complaint other than he may be planning to reopen Steedshop? I would like to thank Mr. Haymart for one thing!! I now read ALL store policies prior to making a purchase, so I do not get "SCAMMED" again!!! I am not just a lone disgruntled customer which Mr. Haymart seems to claim. I fully stand by my complaint!!

THis customer obviously had a terrible experience with this company I owned some years ago. During the time this order was reported we had terrible problems with special order items, backorders, and issues that often fell through the cracks. We had a stated policy that was agreed to by all customers online regarding refunds and fees for special order items. In most cases we worked with our customers to resolve disputes, but there is always some that cannot be worked with. This report mentiones me personally, however I had little interaction with customers and in the last year or so I owned this business, little direct management. Thus while I take responsibility for the fact this customer is unhappy, I take exception to having been called a scam.
