I just got off the phone with StrobesNmore and they have me shaking my head.
On the 26th I called them and placed a small order for a whelen strip light and 3 flanges for 700 series LEDs. When I called it sounded like everything was set and would be shipped right away (ie no back-order).
Almost a week and a half and nothing, so I call. Seems the strip light is on backorder. So I asked them, why if something is on backorder there is there no notification?? She says that after 10 buisness days if an item hasn't shipped then a notification is made. Then the real silly stuff starts coming out..... She tells me that I could have checked if they had the item when I ordered. WTF!!?? If as a buisness you can check something like that, why the F*&k didn't you tell me when you were taking the order? It was my fault for not asking I guess, but who asks such a basic question, and shouldn't that be good service to provide.
Anywho, so what was even worse was when I tried to explain to the young girl that simply put if I would have know that the item was on backorder I could have ordered from elsewhere, asked for overnight, or at least been able to tell the customer that it would take way longer than expected. Sending me a email 10 days after it still hasn't shipped doesn't help. Me having to check up is wasting time. Wasted time = unhappy customer = no more orders. I could tell it was going in one ear and right out the other!!
It was not the fact that the item was on back order and it wasn't her customer service. In fact she was very polite and tried to help something which was way too late. It was more the way the whole process works. Leaving me hanging and making me call to check may have working back in the old days.... but its an Amazon.com "one-click track and ship" world now and these guys are dropping the ball.
I may have thought about giving them a second chance if what I was saying appeared to make sense, but sadly I doubt it did.

It looks like you assumed that the order would ship the day you placed it and unfortunately that is not always the case. We do our best to ship all orders the same day they are placed but when you carry and stock as many products as we do we get back orders from time to time. We clearly state when placing orders on our web site that you need to allow 5-10 business days for your order to ship even though most order still ship same day. We generally ship 98% of all orders same day with the exception being items that are built to order such as bars, consoles, etc... When placing a phone order we do not check stock unless requested. I am sorry the order did not ship as fast as you would have liked but am very pleased to hear the staff treated you professionally. In the future just ask if the items are in stock and we will call or walk right back to shipping to verify the items and availability.
