Do not shop with Suburban Propane! They tell you that they'll work with you on payments, but they won't. In fact I've been put on hold and hung up on while trying to work out payments. As I said previously, in a year and a half, the price of propane jumped from 2.87 to 4.80 (over a series of 5 price hikes) and I was given no notification that the price was increasing. I was never informed that the 2.87 was an "introductory price".

Knowing I was having a hard time paying, they kept pushing to try and get me to get a second tank even though, like I said, I was having trouble keeping up with the nearly 500 USD bill for ONE tank!

When I decided to change propane companies last month to a truly local company (Who only charges 1.99/gal and guarantees that the price won't go over 2.20 before July of NEXT year), I called Suburban to pick up their tank. I was NEVER informed of a "Restocking fee"... of $1/gal remaining in the tank plus tax!!!! So.. My tank was at 95 gals..... that's a restock fee of about 126.71!!! (I did just check their website, where they do list a restocking fee "In some areas" but they do not list how much this fee is. The point is, I should have been told when I called to cancel my account and have them come pick up their practically full tank)

Oh, and let's not forget the delivery they made the day before I closed my account, a delivery I never ordered because my tank was still almost full that was about 67 bucks (about 15 gals).. That if I'd paid, I would have been refunded for.. but because I didn't.... it was deducted from my refund instead.

All in all, I've never had such horrible service with a company.
