With all due respects, this is a follow up/rebuttal to my
previous report filed. I am in the process of resolving the issue of "winning" a vacation. In my opinion, it's not really winning anything, it is a sales promotion for summerwinds resorts specifically stormy point village in branson missouri. I was able to contact people at the company, and , time will tell, if I go through with this 3 day package, i am obligated to attend a "tour". otherwise pay them for the vacation. Which in a way, I already am ive paid them a downpayment of $49, and owe them $90. Did I actually win anything? Makes you wonder. In these tough economic times, you would think if they wanted to make me believe I "won" something, and wanted to try and sell me something, I wouldn't have to pay a dime.

Well I plan on following this one through the end. I'll make my final payment, and will take my "vacation" and go through the tour. It BETTER be a really nice place, that's all I have to say. Next time, call a spade, a spade though, not a bobcat.

Mini vacation experience

AUTHOR: Ann - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 17, 2010

We just spent our mini vacation purchase in Branson through Summer Winds over the President's Day holiday.  They put us up in the Barrington hotel for two nights - nice property with an indoor pool and continental breakfast.  We did get two free show tickets, and purchased two more for our children to see SIX which was on outstanding show.  We also received a $30 coupon for dinner at Montana Mikes which we used and had a pleasant meal.  As for the 90 minute sales presentation.  It lasted over 3 hours and they used very high pressure tactics.  We were offered to purchase a week at Stormy Point for $24,000 at 19% financing.  They immediately took that down to 1 week every three years for around $8,000 at 15.5% financing.  We said "no" to that offer, so they brought in another sales person to offer us a 2 year trial period for $1,445, to apply to the purchase price should we decide to do so.  We said "no" to that offer as well.  Then we had to speak to "Ma Barker" who offered us a voucher for $60 (and something else but after 3 hours I don't remember) to come back the next day to a different location for a 2 hour seminar on vacation rentals.  We declined and left.  So, the mini vacation was very nice for our family, but do some research on Summer Winds, Stormy Point and Festiva, before you go so you are prepared for the high pressure sales presentation.
