I received a call from someone named Ralph, who claimed to be awarding prizes to a drawing I entered at the Duquoin State Fair, in Illinois. I thought it was legit. I was happy that I could take a nice trip with my family, and I was willing to listen to an hour of salesmanship for a timeshare and take a tour. He said it would cost me $149.00 for the hotel stay, a show, and some dinner coupons. I told him I did not have that much money, he would accept $49.00 down payment balance due in 30 days, I would get something in the mail. They even
had some other person get on the line and give me a confirmation number, took my checking account information, and they did indeed take that amount out, luckily since then, they have not gotten any more.
Since then, I have received nothing in the mail from them.
I believe that this outfit is a scam, and the Summerwinds resort, if it is legitimate, ought to try and find these people and prosecute them for fraud and theft.
