We went to purchase a car at Suntrup Hyundai of St. Louis and spent an entire evening discussing only ONE certain car. We made an offer and initialed it.The sales person came out and told us he had asked the sales manager and the manager agreed we had a deal for $17,000! All we have to do now is fill out the check. They asked is they could beat our financing deal we had come with, could they please try. We said, I doubt it since it's a great rate. They said just fill out this form and put your salaries here and we'll just try.

Well then the black magic started. After they saw that my husband made a good salary, the deal was gone! They said, "oh the price of the car is now 19,000" I looked at them like they were crazy. I said we already had a deal, it's sitting in front of you.

Now the psychos at the dealership really started going crazy. They said that the price of 17,000 that we had initialed was for a car out front with 6,000 miles on it, a demo car.

I was like, "what are you even talking about! We've never test driven that! We've never even looked at that car or discussed it!" You just agreed to a deal for 17,000 on the car we've been talking about for the last hour and a half! Now you come back and say we weren't even talking about this car, it was a loaner car we were talking about. Come on! " It was seriously like we were in an episode of the twilight zone. I said, we had a deal, and you better stand by it.

Then the manager starts yelling at us and saying "I NEVER made a deal with you!" I said one last time, you either honor the deal you gave us for 17,000 on the car you knew we were talking about not some stupid demo car or else we file complaints and walk. He yelled again. We walked out. So the moral of the story here is," never go to Suntrup Hyundai." The funny thing is that later that night we bought the same type of car from a reputable Hyundai dealership for 17,000 (with our own financing)and this was good money that Suntrup could have had! Instead they would rather bait and switch out cars, lie to customers, cheat them, yell at them and berate them! The absolute worst car dealership I've ever been to. Never go there please! And on a side note if you check out the salesman there, most of them have long records in the Missouri court system. It figures!
