Sure Financial Incorporated Scam Los Angeles, California

My parents who are in their 80's received a notice from Sure Financial Inc. telling them they had won a $250,000 prize.  Enclosed was a check for $3,450 which they were to cash after calling to validate the winnings.  Then they were to send $3,100 as a processing fee for the prize money.    I am so glad they called me. 

I am a retired police officer and knew instantly this was a scam.   I called the toll free number and spoke with an illiterate guy who sounded like he was in a hotel room in Kenya or somewhere by his accent.   I told him I was aware of the scam and was reporting it.  I notice the names of the contact people are the same as the earlier reports of this scam, but the phone number has changed. 

I called the one posted on the earlier alerts and the recording said the number had been "canceled."  Everything else was the same, Otis Sprinkler Co., on and on.  I cannot believe people fall for these, but my parents really thought they had won something.......I did have fun with Mustafa or whoever it was on the other end of the phone line.
