SurplusAlert.com fraudulent trial membership signup, ripoff! Internet

I ordered a "free" Auction Freeway Success Kit, which you only pay shipping. After I made the purchase of the shipping from my debit card, the next web page showed a 4-step plan to follow to get the most out of the kit. After the 2nd step it said a 14 day trial was in effect where afterwards it would bill my card for $29.95 per month. This billing would come from SurplusAlert.com. Nothing was mentioned about this company or a trial period prior to my ordering the Auction Freeway Success Kit.

I immediately contacted this company by phone @ 1-877-546-0467 and got the run around, but I stayed persistent. I eventually got them to disclose to me how to cancel the membership. The web address to do this is: www.surplusalert.com/myaccount.php?cmd=cancel.

Interestingly, when I submitted my cancellation, they responded that they could reduce their billing to $9.95 per month. I cancelled and printed out the page for my records. I receieved a cancellation comfirmation number in my email, which I also printed out for record.
