They were contracted to mitigate a somewhat high (11) radon count before I purchased the house. Both my realtor and I left messages for them to contact me BEFORE they did any work. THEY DID NOT CONTACT ME. When we moved into the house I found that they filled the basement floor cracks haphazardly with silicone, and the filled the basement settling cracks by incompletely smearing the silicone over the crack. The crack should have been ground out first. They installed a radon mitigation fan system in the exact spot where I intended to finish the basement. This could have been avoided if they had called me first, but they decided not to do this. To move the mitigation fan system would cost me an additional $495. An any case, the fan system quit working about 3 weeks after they installed it. A SWAT technician came out to the house, and said that the cracks should have been filled with polyurethane (silicone was not permanent) and the fan system wasn't installed correctly. However, to replace the fan, they would charge me around $200 in labor costs. I should note, than no final radon level was determined. After they installed the fan system, someone left a test kit, but no starting date was indicated, so the test wasn't valid. The tech who came out set up another test kit, but apparently, I returned it too late (no one told me it had to be returned within a certain date), and that test wasn't valid. The bottom line is that right now, they have no idea whether the work they did reduced the radon level. They have no intentions of filling the cracks with the proper material, fixing the fan for free, or even testing (for free) whether the radon levels have been lowered.

I personally reached out to customer and stated I would send a tech out for free even know we are not the fan manufacturer and did not do anything wrong. We are not a professional basement seal company and sealed the cracks the only way we know how and normally do and did use the proper materials. We also provide a retest for the customer to test the home after, because it is a conflict of interest for us to do our own testing. He said he would get back to me and I have not heard from him since. If the customer would like someone out to inspect the system and see what can be done I'd be happy to help. Please call 517-908-8968 and my name is Ashley.
