Like so many other fools I joined Swipebids.com. Generally this sounded like a good idea and I thought id give it a try. First of all in the "How this works" section the very first thing they say is "We give you 300 bids to start with". I am sure like me this is the first thing that new prospective members see. This bascially hooked me to give it a try. Then I started bidding with what i thought was my free 300 bids. First thing i noticed is that a large percentage of the "Items" they offer for bid are More Swipe Bids. Yes there were a few items and giftcards up for acution but by far the most items are for more bids. I thought id try to increase the number of bids by bidding on these "swipebids" auctions which i did and won. Of course you have to pay for the "bids" you when. I spent $85 to wich 1300 or so bids. GOod so far. Then i started trying to win and bid on other items. Wal-mart giftcertificates etc. It was obvioous that if you were going to win you need to use their "auto bidding system" which places your bid automtically if you are outbid. Well naturally when i tried to turn this on the autobidder was under maintenance. No telliing for how long. After hours of frustration at not winning any bids i was preparred to give up and cut my losses. Today i checked my checking acount and they had hit me for an extra $150 bucks for those 300 supposedly free bids. Natually I contacted the chat support and was told to complete a refund request form. However thats a waste of time because to get a refund you have to not have won an auction. which of course I did for more bids. This place is a complete scam and joke. It prays on our weaknesses, uses false and misleading advertising and doesnt provide the tools that they promise. Finally there is very few real items up for bid. I am sure this sites days are numbered but I hope by filling this out it will save some other person from what i went through. I am going to my bank Monday to see if i can get the charges reversed at a minimum the 150. We will see what happens. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE.
