When I first signed on with Tate Publishing, it was a contractual agreement that I would receive the following services: Advertisement, Publicist, and Royalties.

I was asked to pay a retainers fee of $2,300. It would be refunded once I sold a thousand books. This fee was for the publicist.

Tate never followed through with their end of the contract. The advertisement was a lie, the publicist was a person who lived in the Philippines and had no experience in the industry, and the market manager only returned my calls when I wanted to order books.

Throughout the three years that I stayed with Tate, they might have booked me five book signings. I did the rest on my own. This was promised in the contract as well. To be honest, the contract meant nothing to Tate because 90% of what Tate had promised in bold letters skipped past their dirty noses.

I finally get tired of poor quality work and countless errors that I asked to terminate my contract. It took constant hounding through phone calls and emails to finally get a contract to terminate my relationship with Tate. In the contract and other means of writing, Tate swore that I had all rights to my books and that they will have my book removed from their website and all other sites in 90 days. That time limit ended on November 15, 2016. I have sent many emails and after sending several, Trinity Tate contacts me through email with "I understand you have a question". This is one of their many tactics in skirting around the issues.

Now I have the rights to my books and I can't get picked up by another publisher because Tate is not complying with the contract that (Tate and I) both parties signed. I have been turned down twice by two different publishers simply because my books are still under Tate's name.

They do not have the right to keep my books and stop me from moving forward. I have filed a complaint with the attorney general.
