Tax Resolution Services, Co. (aka: Tax Defense Partners) is heavidly advertised on talk radio. i heard their "live" testimonial ads multiple times from the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and Sean Hannity.
I had an outstanding payroll tax isuue for my company from 2007 - 2008 and thought they could help me arrange a paymeny plan with the IRS, and possibly, get me a reduction in what I owed in penalties and interest.
As the commericial stated, I didn't want the IRS to sieze my accounts or levy them. I wanted to address the problem up front and needed a professional organization to help guide me in dealing with the IRS.
$15,000 later (the up front fees for my case) and 5 years I had the following. My accounts were levied and siezed. The IRS sent letters to all my vendors garnishing our recievables. I ended up with a payment plan that was 8 x higher than the starting agreement with the IRS.
It was a disaster and people need to not use these services. it would had been nice to use the $15,000 I gave them to pay down what I owed.
This company is ripping people off by telling them they can help them negotiate with the IRS. They cannot. They say they can keep from having accounts levied or garnished. They cannot.
The customer service was terrible and non-responsive unless you badgered them.
It took the IRS almost 3 years to assign a RO to my case.
After that it appeared more like the people at Tax Resolution Services, Co. (aka: Tax Defense Partners) were working with the IRS than representing me.
I only spoke to the lawyer once.
This company needs to be investigated by the California Bar and the US Attorney General.
The slimy talk radio personality's only care about the advertising revenue and could care less about how their listeners get mistreated.
Terrible.

Tax Defense Partners now being run by CEO Patrick Cox ,formerly TaxMasters Inc of Houston, TX

All interested parties, this is merely an informational update.
If you remember all of the hub-bub around 2012 with a Houston tax resolution company called TaxMasters Inc, with the odd and stiff looking late night commercials, you will recognize Patrick Cox, former CEO (https://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/taxmasters-patrick-cox-hit-200-judgment/story?id=16040652). Seems he is back at it in business again somehow as CEO of CA based Tax Defense Partners, after a TX court dumped his 46M judgment against him (https://www.law360.com/articles/554001/texas-court-dumps-46m-award-against-taxmasters-ceo).
No surprise that they are spending so much on expensive radio and TV, back in business.
Be careful here if you are considering using them, and do your due diligence.
