Taylor Chevrolet recommendation for uneeded air conditioner repair with exhorbitant price Lancaster Ohio

In the spring of 2014 I brought a 2008 GMC Yukon to the Taylor Chevrolet dealership because the air conditioner was no longer cooling.  After being charged for a diagnostic evaluation, I was told that two of the tubes carrying the refrigerant had rubbed together causing a hole thereby causing loss of the refrigerant.  The estimated price for the repair was about $1,600.

I took the vehicle to another mechanic who applied vacumn to the system and found no leak.  The system was recharged with refrigerant and a sealant and now, 3 or 4 months later, the air conditioner still works fine and all for less than $200.

In the fall of 2013 I took the same vehicle to them for another issue.  In the course of their evaluation, they discovered the brake rotors were warped (true) and that they were too far gone to resurface (maybe true).  They were also very excited to tell me that I needed a new set of tires; they didn't think the tires would make it through the winter.  While it's true the tires were worn, they were not worn out.  Now, about a year later, there is still usable tread on the tires though I will be replaceing them this fall but not at their dealership.  Actually, I don't plan to visit their dealership ever again.

I should also mention another tire issue.  The aforementioned GMC has tire pressure monitors.  When Taylor Chevrolet rotated the tires, they failed to reprogram the monitors.  Then at another visit to their dealership someone, apparently thinking tire pressure was low because of the reading on the monitor, put WAY too much pressure in one of the tires.  They obvously didn't get a tire pressure gauge out and check the tire.  I'm fortunate I didn't have a blowout.
