These people will do anything possible not to set up automatic payment with you. They just hope you forget so they can charge you late fees. I've tried fo 2 years to set up automatic payment and when finaly did something didn't work on their side but the'll not email nor call to tell you this, just keep adding late fees and other charges. One morning I've left my house for work to find out that my car isn't where I've parked it last night. I've called all local towing companies, no luck. Then called police to file report and fined out that TD Auto Finance decided to reposetion my car because they couldn't get payments out of my account. Again no emails, no calls, no mail about this. When I've got my car back paying even more fees I've decided to set up reminders on my phone to go online to make payments myself each month and when tried to do that on due date finded out that now my online account is not working for some reason. I made my payment over the phone and asked to fix this problem so at least I can go online and do monthly payments. Another month went by and nothing happened. Called tech support to find out what is the problem with my online account. They've decided to deactivate my online account because "previous experience not heing able to collect payments from my bank". Seams like novadays banks will do anything you need to make your monthly payments any way you like. Not these guys! They will do anything possible to get those late fees from you! Please stay away from these people!

Yes that is a serious question because you seem to be doing everything you can to avoid taking ANY responsibility for your finances. You say you may "forget" to make the car payment. Really? A car payment is generally peoples second biggest expense every month. Not only that it is for the same amount and due on the same date.
But then you finally take SOME responsibility and set a reminder to make your payment..ON the due date. Where you have issues so you put in a request. Yet do you ever follow up with that request during the month NO...it appears you wait until your due date again.
As for you missing your payments. Again this is probably your second biggest monthly expense so it should be VERY obvious if you actually reviewed your bank account(s) you would be seeing the payment not being taken out. But since you obviously don't reconcile or review your bank statements even just looking at your current balance being (probably) several hundred dollars higher than you expected should have tipped you off.
Now the one thing we haven't even touched on. Why couldn't they withdraw the funds from your bank account Was there sufficient funds in the account?
Wait for it...the ONLY answer you can give here is "I don't know". Because if you say yes there were enough funds then you would have to admit that you knew your balance and that any normal person with basic math skills would see that it was higher than it should have been since the payments were not being withdrawn. Where at which point it is your responsibility to find out WHY.
