I was charge twice $125 levy process and what I own the medical bill which is $194. This is ripped off. This is the reason so many customer are leaving TD bank. I'm closing my account never again going back to them.

Levy

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 26, 2017

While it is hard to figure out exactly what is going on it seems as if this bank was served with a Garnishment Order onto one(or more) of your accounts from the Courts for a debt you owed.

The bank will charge you for having to put a levy into place, and they will charge you each time they receive one.  The amount of the levy or garnishment does not matter.  While $125 may seem excessive, it is in line with most other banks.

As for being done with them,  a Levy is pretty much the last ditch effort in collections and is something that is not done on a regular basis.  So I can just about guarantee that if people are leaving this bank the levy fee is NOT one of of them.

Now, if you are leaving just be aware as stated that most banks will charge some sort of fee.  So if this fee was a determining factor you need to be sure to ask your next bank what their fee is before you open the account.  But then again, if this is something you are going to continue to worry about perhaps you should just keep your money out of any bank until you get your debt situation settled because that is the only reason you would incur this fee.
