TechonDigital I was sent a lower priced model than what I ordered, Not sent at all the high pressure add-ons I ordered New York New York

I ordered a Magellan 4000 GPS unit from TechonDIGITAL over the internet for 179 dollars. I recieved an email requesting that I call and confirm my order the next morning which was a Sunday Morning. I did not call and about noon they called me with a high pressure sales pitch to add a memory card for 49 dollars. (which I found out when I got it that I did not need) When I agreed to that he wanted to sell me cleaning stuff and protective covers and carrying cases and such that I would not agree to. He finally sold me on a 2008 map upgrade for 39 dollars with all the other thrown in for free.

When I received the GPS unit I noticed it was not the 4000 model I ordered but a model 4040-which sold for 149 dollars on their web site. Also, according to the Magellan website, it did not have the 2008 map.

The 2008 map costs 79.99 on the Magellan website. The difference in cost between the model I ordered and the model I received was 30 dollars. That's 110 dollars they've ripped me off.

I have emailed them-no response. I have repeatedly called them with various non responsive results. They just hang up on me, or I suddenly get the fast busy signal on the phone, They say the customer service dept is closed (the hours are listed on their website and they should not have been closed) or they ask for something like my billing zipcode and then put me on hold til I get the fast busy again.

I give up. they are crooks and I guess I'm lucky I haven't gotten burned but this one time. Save yourself some money and grief and buy somewhere else regardless of the low prices they advertise.
