I had a problem setting up my Roku device and TechRoger's number came up on a Google search for help with Roku.  A man named "Vinny" helped me by having me allow him to gain access to my computer by my downloading an application called "TeamView".  After he had gotten into my computer, he actually fixed the problem I was having with Roku but he also found a very "serious" problem.  According to Vinny, 2 servers had hacked into my home network and could access all the information on the computers in the network.  He said that TechRoger could get rid of this problem and guaranty no further intrusion for 3 years for $399.95.  I told him that I wasn't prepared to commit myself to spending $400 at this time and I wanted to see if I could verify what he was telling me before I take action.

After a little more conversation, Vinny asked me "How much can you afford to pay?"  I knew then that there was a good chance I was being scammed.   A reputable company does not operate this way.   I thanked Vinny for his help and told him I would think about it.

I then did a search for review for TechRoger and came upon this site where I found several others who had be scammed by this company.  This confirmed for me that my suspicion had foundation.  Fortunately, I did not fall for it.

Although Vinny was into my computer via "TeamView", I could see what he was doing at all times.  My important information is always protected and it looked as though he really didn't know what he was doing other than elevating my level of concern about the alleged intrusion into my home network and its devices.

I learned the hard way that Roku has only one support site that Roku owners should vist:

http://www.support.roku.com

You will get the expert help you need there.
