I got a call from an UNAVALIABLE number telling me that I have been entered to win 25,000 dollars or a new mustang. All I had to do was take this survey and accept all the free stuff they were giving. Well, I am 20 years old and pressed for money so any contest for money is good for me.
They then told me I had to pay 4.35 to help with the free magazines for 60 months. (shoulda thought). I accepted. 5 dollars a week is twenty dollars a month and that's not out of my budget range. Before I could catch myself I was agreeing to pay 68.28 for 19 months.
It seemed to me fair enough they had all my information it seemed. But now I am convinced that they just stole my identity. I realize the survey questions were now about me personally and they have my social security number. Yes I was stupid for doing all of that now that I think about it, but I am twenty and I thought it was a good offer.
They offered me a diamond watch and told me I would be getting the release papers in the mail for it. Well, I was also told the subscription wouldn't start for a couple weeks, which they charged me the same day. They also took an extra dollar out of my account.
Luckily the card was my bank card so I cancelled it and got another one sent to me. Therefore they don't have anything except my social security number. They WILL NOT get another dime for me. I should have known it was not legit when they did not give me a customer service number or a call back number if I had problems. When I saw the extra dollar charge is when I realized I got screwed.
They didn't even tell me where they were located. They just knew I had one of the four MAJOR credit cards. Whatever. I hope as many people read this as they can and it doesn't happen to them.
