i responded to an ad for a "$99.00 brake job". after they put my car on the lift and tore down the brakes on all four wheels i was told that the "99.00 brake job" would mean using break pads that couldn't be guaranteed. i agreed (didn't have much choice at that point) to the use of "a better quality pad".

After four hours on constant pressure by them on me to allow other "needed work" to be done i left after paying $288.80. i was charged $25.00 for the use of a "special tool" and $25.00 for a "bleed & flush". the "better pad" turned out to cost $120.00 (an obscene amount-they must be made of gold)

other customers were getting the same con. one woman had been there all day. she was given a $500.00 plus break job. i am happy to say that we (myself and two other customers) informed a new customer as to what was going on and she left before her car was disabled.
