Texas DFPS CPS DFPS Kidnapping Children Big Spring, Texas

On June 14th Howard county DFPS worker misled my illiterate brother into give DFPS permission to remove my nephew (4 days old) from his home. Upon removal my brother was not given the opportunity to request the child be placed with family before placing him in foster care. The reason given for the removal was that the mother had a pending case. Since that time my husband and I have been seeking polacement. A full two months passed before DFPS contacted a third party to complete a home study. Still another month went by before wehad the results. During the month DFPS worker explained they were recommending placement but the placement was contengent upon CASAs agreement. At the time of the decision not to recommend placement we inquired about a placement hearing. A full month is passed and I have had to contact the supervior... the superviors supervior and still the next supervisor before getting any information about the placement hearing. Today I recieved a call from the case worker with the CASA worker present explaining that the department was never in agreement with recommending placement.

The issues here are the lack of communication, purposful miscommunication and misrepresentation of intentions. Everyone I have spoke to in the department as given me conflicting information at one time or another mostly depnding on who was present during the conversation or who I had spoken to prior. For instance, we were first told that the child was removed because the mother had an open case. Later when it served the department to say so we were told that the baby was removed because the mother had placed the baby at risk. Now we are currently back to the baby was removed because of an open case.

These people are in the business of protecting childrens best interests but lack the professionalism to communicate appropriately or in a timely manner. Further, the DFPS purposely misleads people and gives them false hope when it suits their needs and recants when statements are no longer favorable to their needs.
