My birthday was on February 27 and I decided I wanted to go to TGI Friday's because my parents are on the Atkins Diet and that was the only restaurant I knew of that had an Atkins menu.
It was a Friday night so we went at 5. There wasn't anyone in the place and the hostess set us right next to the kitchen. At first it was noisy like normal, but then the hostess went in the kitchen to blow up balloons. One of the cooks came out and kept spraying her with the helium. She kept screaming, did it 4 more times. By this time, my family had gotten our food and was trying to eat. My dad asked for the manager, and all the employees left the area. Plus every time someone came around the corner they would yell corner, I can understand the safety part of it, but do they need to yell it so everyone in the place can hear them.
The manager for that shift came over and said that they have a lot of employee doing nothing because the rush hasn't come in yet. She said that no one should have to sit in front of the kitchen when no one else is in the place. When we told her we weren't coming back she said she would try to make it up to us.
After that every employee that walked by gave us a dirty look. I felt like they were trying to push us out of there. Personally I didn't think my food was that great, I don't think I got what I ordered, but since I had never been there before I wasn't sure.
We got our bill, my dad paid it. Then the manager showed up with two free appetizers. I'm sorry, but I don't think that is going to get me to come in again. I'm might use them, but I'll get the free appetizer and water, then leave and go somewhere that won't set me next to the kitchen.
My advice to this manager is maybe she shouldn't have so many kids working at the same time. If you know the rush isn't going to start till 6, have them come in at 5:45.
I just want everyone to know that the TGI Friday's in Omaha is the worst restaurant I have ever been to in my life, and I wouldn't suggest eating there.

I have not ever worked for TGI Fridays, BUT, I do work for the same company that owns the TGI Fridays chain and also the current place I work at. What I would suggest to this complaint, would be to visit their website and file a complaint, or get a comment card and mail it in yourself, as long as the address is not the same as the restaurants address. The one thing corp offices hate, is dealing with bad comment cards, and a restaurant chain I used to work for would actually forward an email from complaining ppl, to the store and ask for an explanation, and after getting that, the managers would get in touch with all parties and find out what happened, and then report back to the corp office, because they would wait for the excuse before taking care of the guest themselves. If the problem was as bad as it sounds, and the place was empty, the guest could actually sit elsewhere in the restaurant, and the staff would have moved them, that is no big deal. When I woked for a chain out of New Orleans, the hostess would try to sit the guests in the next servers section, but if the guest wanted a different table, they get it.
