The Arize Group I got scammed Overland Park, Kansas

In March of 2011 we were contacted by the Arize Group.  They said they could help us with our mortgage.  After sending them $2990. in 3 monthly installments we  received 3 letters of demand to send to our mortgage lender.  Chase.  
The people who worked there seemed so caring and thoughtful.  When the last $990.00 payment was withdrawn from our checking account, it became harder to reach anyone  there.  Then all of a sudden the phone was no longer in service.  
I guess we were the fools who thought Arize was legit.  I found out too late that it was illegal to ask for money up front.  I am not a disgruntled employee.  Rather I am a hard working woman who is really quite angry with myself for being scammed like this.  I finally got a modification of my mortgage from Chase after trying 3 times.  I just don't want anyone else being taken for a ride.
