The Bank of America Credit Department tWilmington, Delaware

I would like to warn everyone out there who is a customer of The Bank of America.

Im a credit card holder of the Bank of America and in nearly a decade of being a customer in good standing of the bank who never missed a payment I called the bank to inquire about availability of better balance transfer offers.

I was connected to their credit department and I immediately felt like I was talking not to customer service rep but to an FBI investigator.

I wasnt asking for credit increase just looking for a better balance transfer deal. Soon, I learned that just by speaking with credit department I was subject to credit history inquiry without giving my consent. This unauthorized inquiry into my credit history compromised my credit rating. Also, the credit department of The Bank of America/FBI  agent automatically reduced my credit limit on my credit card.

I got off the phone humiliated, hurt and ripped off not monetarily but in terms of credit ratings and line of credit. This never happened to me in 10 years of dealing with the bank. And once again Im a customer who has never missed a payment and I have been always in good standing.

It is very sad and unfortunate for this bank to treat their loyal customers like this.
