The Walking Company-High Price/Low Quality They Don't Stand Behind Their Products Mission Viejo California

I purchased an expensive pair of walking sandals from The Walking Company.  I was sent to this store by a friend who raved about their high quality and comfortable shoes.  

I bought a pair of sandals to wear on a vacation.  They were about $150, but very comfortable and I believed them to be of good quality. I have had the sandals for a few years.  I've worn them only a few times.  Recently, I took them out of the box to wear and saw that the leather-looking (reading the fine print inside the shoe I discovered it's not leather but man made material) was peeling off.

I contacted The Walking Store Customer Service by phone today.  They advised me that since the shoes were more than one year old, they would not help me and had no responsibility.  BTW the shoes are their own brand "Abeo" and not sold anywhere but The Walking Company.

I intended to stop by their store to buy some shoes for a friend for an upcoming trip.  Guess we'll just need to buy our expensive walking shoes elsewhere...say Nordstroms where they stand behind their merchandise.
