Thompson - RCA - Audiovax - Audiovox Does this company exist? Socorro Texas

I too am dealing with a RCA TV purchased from Best Buy in Roseville, MI. It is a piece of junk. Within 90 days the picture tube went out. All we got was a green screen. I paid $250.00 for this TV. And I too am dealing with this Thompson Co. When I called there the person wanted me to send $90.00 even thou the TV was still under warranty and pay the shipping fee myself. She too wanted a charge card number. I refused.

After numerous phone calls I finally got them to send me a prepaid shipping label, now the warranty is expired. They did send me a renewal on my warranty for an additional $29.99 per year. My name was misspelled on this renewal, so that explains why they couldn't find my original warranty info. I am tired of dealing with this issue so we put the TV back in the box and there it sits. Best Buy was just as worthless.

I suggest that we as consumers rally our congressmen and establish a law that the retail stores be responsible to either repair the products, exchange the product, or refund our money. If Best Buy would have to take the loss, you can bet their ___, that they would make sure their products and customer service met acceptable standards.

RCA was once a great product. From my research there really isn't a RCA company anymore. The name was sold to Thomson. Thomson is also affiliated with General Electric and several other companies.

As of 10-17-2007, Thomson has sold the RCA name to Audiovox AKA Audiovax (VOXX symbol on the NewYork stock exchange) It seems Thomson is some sort of holding company that buys and sells companys Also, thru the rumor mill Thomson deliberately destroyed the RCA line so that GE could capitalize on the TV market. Therefor, they do not care about us the consumer in relation to RCA. They are hoping we now buy A GE TV. Could this possibly be a violation of the anti-trust laws?
