I asked several questions before placing my order for winter snow tire and wheels at Tire Rack and attempted to research the wheels very carefully before placing my order.   Unfortunately, I was very unhappy when I removed the cardboard cover to discover that the Granite Alloy GA640 wheels that I had ordered had two bolt patterns and the wheel hub is not the same diameter as the axle on my vehicle.

I then contacted the Customer Service Department at Tire Rack and I told them that I was very unhappy with my purchase.  The eventually told me that I could return the tires and wheels and I would be out a $28.00 freight pick-up fee and I would also lose my original shipping fee, they did finally however agree to waive the return shipping fee and the $60.00 dismount fee; or, at least that is what they told me, who knows what they will really do they seem to lie about everything else.

Thus, I am very disgusted given that the Customer Service person that I spoke with told me that Tire Rack knows that the wheel hub diameter is different than the axle hub diameter on the vehicle; and they also knew that the wheels that I purchased had two bolt patterns.  Prior to making the purchase I spoke with a sales person at Tire Rack and I asked a very specific question about the wheel center hub diameter to make sure that they were the same diameter as the axle and he assured me that they were.  Given that he lied to me and given that they do not indicate on their website that the center hub does not match along with the fact the wheels have two bolt holes patterns is unacceptable; and consequently every should be aware that when making a purchase at Tire Rack they will conceal everything; and based upon what I have read today, it seems that their Road Hazzard Warranty is also a JOKE.

Bottom Line – Be aware of what you think you are ordering at Tire Rack – You may be unpleasantly surprised when your order arrives!  Also try mounting a heavy truck wheel and tire with two bolt patterns and let me know what you think.

Tire Rack Customer Service Took Care of the Problem

AUTHOR: - ()

After serveral phone calls and serveral E-mail messages, the Customer Service Team at Tire Rack offered me a somewhat reasonable settlement.

I atill hope that they update the WEB site to provide more details for future customers.

Bottom Line for future customers - Call and talk with a sales person and ask very detailed questions and then have them send you an E-mail with the answers.  Ask questions such as how many bolt-hole patterns does the wheel have that I like and is the wheel a hub-centric or a lug-centric wheel and any other questions such as will the fit be the same as an OEM wheel
