My car began having issues months ago. I took it to Tires Choice to get it repaired. The first time i took my car in it had to be towed, costing me 75 dollars. After they checked the car out they stated i needed a new alternator and battery. costing 629.00 for parts and labor. I told them to go ahead and fix the car and a few hours later i was on my merry way. Or so i thought. Literally on the way home my car stalled out...exhibiting the exact same symptoms as before. I was stuck more than 30 minutes away from the shop so i had to wait till the next day to get it back in. When i again had to have my car towed( this time from much further) it cost another 85.00. Then Tires Choice said some wiring was bad (later found out from real mechanic they some how rigged one wire in the car but they couldnt quite figure out why or what the purpose of said wire was) Tires Coice charged another 250.00 for that. a couple days later my car stalls out again and i take it back. They then tell me that my PCM is short circuting multiple parts so "all the work they did was legitimate" but that they could not replace the PCM and i would need to go GM to have that done.
Well because over a grand was already spent...it took me 3 more months of borrowing vehicles (mind you im a single mother of 3 and you have no idea how difficult that can be) and missing work (days sometimes entire weeks) before i had enough money to go get a second opion (per GM's suggestion because a "PCM" malfunction is extremely rare.) I took my car to a local mechanic who after running his diagnostic he states a my Crankshaft sensor is fried and that could very well be the problem (now again to get my car to the local privately family owned mechanic i received another 68.00 tow bill) 89 dollar bill to run the diagnostic and now another 44.99 for labor and 160.00 for the sensor. The car is now running fine and has had no issues at all. Is there something i can hold Tires Choice laible for here? this effected work (thus loosing money fore im a waitress with no "vacation" time) ineviditably lost one job partially due to this...it effected my livlihood and my family. What can be done?? It doesnt seem right that they get away with this!

1st the problems and then some advice
To sue in a real court you would need the old parts to be tested by an independent expert.
He would have to be willing to testify.
What you could do is file a small claims case, bring the receipts and just explain why you think they did the wrong things just to get your money and make them explain to the judge why you don't deserve your money back. Where I live worth the $60.00 for entertainment value alone.
Judges are notorious in cases like this where evidence favors neither side for favoring the consumer. Not a guaranteed win but worth a try.
By the way. What happened is they couldn't find a problem and guessed. A process called throwing parts at the problem. Intermittent problems like your sensor are very hard to track down and bad mechanics will do this.
