Title Max Loan with no employment Florence, South Carolina
*Consumer Comment: Huh?
*Consumer Comment: Short answer.
I was given a loan by Title Max here in South Carolina a few months ago without being employed. They told me to bring a copy of my unemployment benefit check and they could give me a loan. Since that time by benefits were cut off and I have no way to repay them. I have paid them back more than I borrowed but still have not paid any on the principal, just interest!
I have since been told that it was illegal for them to give me the loan in the first place without having a job. Is this true?

I think the better question here is why would you take out a loan knowing that you couldnt repay it?
Its comical that you made an irresponsible decision and then try and pin it on someone else. You obviously didnt read your contract before you signed it either.
Geez, are people really this dumb? No wonder this country is in the shape its in.

No.
The fact you don't have a job does not disqualify you for a loan-thanks to a federal law passed in 1996. Prior to 1996, nobody would have given you a loan without a job or substantial income from "other sources."
