TomTom, Inc. Won't stand behind poor quality products! Internet

Have a TomTom Go 720, on or about the 13th month of ownership, just out of warranty, I started having issues with the unit not powering up. I called TomTom tech support and they had me to hold down the reset button and the power button simultaneously for 30 seconds to reset the unit. This worked for a period of time, but was aggravating to have to perform this function on a $350 piece of electronics.

Next I was told to download the latest software and possibly correct the issue. So, I connected to the cradle and my PC and downloaded the software. It turned my unit into a BRICK!!! Won't power on, no combination of reset will fix the problem.

I call tech support again. I was told that since it was out of warranty, it was cheaper to purchase another unit than to have this one repaired!! The customer support agent then went on to tell me how they have a customer loyalty program and I could get a discount on another unit, but right now they have them on sale and that the sale price was probably better than utilizing the customer loyalty discount.

I simply informed the agent that no further action would be necessary on his part and that since I had to buy another unit I would be going with Garmin since I had previously owned Garmin with no problems.

I have read many other instances on the internet of people having the same issues with TomTom units that won't power up.

My advice is, don't buy TomTom, save yourself the heartache.
