This should sum it up here is  a copy of the email I just sent to their head provider Dr Samouha.. What a joke they are I am prepared at this point if they send me a bill I am going to file charges for the scam I feel they are running


I contacted your clinic in regards to the lap band and have had nothing but very poor customer service. his email was drpejman at topsurgeons dot com

 

1st called your 1 800 GETSLIM number

The person that took the call was nice and courteous, however I asked for an appointment / consultation at your Bakersfield office the appointment was made at your San Bernardino office.  I asked if the consult was private and was told yes but it was not it was in the lobby of your Bakersfield office.  The appointment was for 10:00 a.m. and the provider was one hour late

2nd I was told I needed a physical and your office was kind enough to make an appointment for me with one of your providers at his Beverly Hills location.  I called back because Beverly Hills was to far to drive for a PE and was told the PE could be done in the Bakersfield office.  I drove to the Bakersfield office on a foggy day which I took off of work to attend drove an hour and a half only to be told that the person that made the appointment should not have done that and that Bakersfield does not have a provider to do a PE 

3rd I was told by your office that once I attended the consultation the surgery would take place with in two weeks.  Anglia from your Bakersfield office called and told me how it was anywhere from a month to six months depending on my insurance AFTER I had already put in to take vacation time from work so that I would not have to worry about trying to work around the procedure.

4th I was told by your office I needed a endoscope and that there would be no charge this was all part of the surgery

5th I was told Nina would be my contact person from your office.  Nina is a very nice person that never returns calls when she says she will.  On the day I drove to Bakersfield for the PE Nina told me she would call me while I was driving back home, the drive was about an hour I had not heard from her so I call Nina and she said she would call me back in 15 minutes I did not hear from her so I called her the next morning ext ext ext.  If your office does not plan on calling patients you should not tell them you will be calling this happened several times I finally asked for a new consultant.

6th On Monday Dec 28th I was told your office had put in for a prior auth from my insurance company. I then received a telephone call from your office this morning telling me they do not contract with my insurance company. One would think that 6 weeks ago when your office told me you were contracted with my insurance carrier you would have contacted me before now.

 

I have several hours invested in going through your clinic for my Lap Band procedure that are total wasted.

   approximately 5 hours driving time to and from your Bakersfield office

   3 hours in your Bakersfield office for a consult that your provider was an hour late then attending the hour 

   long consultation.  The 45 minutes I was in your Bakersfield office only to be told there is not a provider 

   that does PE's in your Bakersfield office.

I have wasted two weeks vacation that I could have been looking for a professional clinic to go to for my procedure and your office waited until that last day of my vacation to call and inform me you do not even contract with my insurance company. 

For a living I am a consultant for medical offices and travel 80% of the time so taking off work for something like this has not only cost me time but money as well.  

I am sending this email because I think your office is such an inadequately run facility and I wanted to bring this to your attention personally. Now please don't get me wrong your entire staff is always kind and curious but treat people as if they are buying a used car from a run down car lot and are willing to tell anyone anything just to get them through the door.

I do not mean to be disrespectful but my time is just as valuable as yours and you should know your office has wasted time and money for me.
