I was just contacted by a man named Jason who informed me he was with a company called Total Resort Solutions. Before I had a chance to ask the purpose of the call, he launched into a fabulous offer, telling me I could make $1740.00 per week for the timeshare I own at the Seasons Resort near Sugarbush, Vermont, plus the same amount for each of three bonus weeks I was given by RCI.

Luckily, I haven't been an RCI member in a decade, and so I was immediately skeptical.

But Jason was convincing, explaining his company rented unused timeshare units to large corporate entities and even took me to his corporate website to show me his company's "Online Business Bureau Trusted Site" rating. (Beware, the site looks totally legitimate!)

His next ploy was to ask me if I wanted my cashier's check for $5460.00 for the four week rental made out specifically to me or jointly to me and another family member. It all began to sound too good to be true, but really fell apart when Jason asked for a credit card number to begin the application process.

He explained that he needed an up front service fee of $375.00 for each rental week to get things started, and that the total fee would be $1500 for the full four week rental.

I inquired as to why I would be charged now for a service he hadn't yet provided, and was reassured that no fee would be charged to my card until after I signed an online contract. I told Jason I needed to research the company before giving him my card, so he gave me his contact information and told me to call again at my convenience.

After googling Total Resort Solutions, I realized these guys have scammed a lot of people, and I'm writing to warn everyone that they're very convincing, and sounded quite legitimate until requesting a credit card.
