What happened was a cute college aged guy knocked on my door and started explaining to me how he is going from door to door for a contest. That he is supposed to talk to people and learn about their major and get inspired. So of course, I told him my major and "got him inspired". He ended up giving me a lot of high fives.

Anyways, he explained to me about this contest, and how he gets points for each subscription he sells. He said the more he gets in cash, the more points he gets. He also said that it is for a trip to Europe.

What he did was he told me he has to prove that he has talked to people and is actually doing something so he took my name down. He had not even mentioned the magazine yet and was already taking my name. He then handed it to me and I saw one I like and decided to go for it. I was surprised that there weren't a ton of magazines. There were a lot missing from the list.

Anyways, I ended up getting one subscription, and paid $20 cash and the rest, $55 with a check.

DO NOT DO THIS! This is a scam. If they come, just say your not interested. If this has happened to you, hopefully you only paid with a check. If you did, you can call your bank and cancel the check. There is a way to get out of this on the back of the receipt they give you. It gives you 3 days to send it in and you will get all your money back. Seeing that this is a scam and they are trying to steal your money, there is no guarantee that it will work.

Nonetheless, I am going to try anyways and have already cancelled my check.
